Ever wondered why you’re not gaining weight yet you are “eating so much” ? Or going to the gym and not “putting on size” or “growing your muscles” ? Leaving you to feel self conscious, unmotivated & insecure? If this sounds familiar it’s because it is very common along men. On a personal level I have been in this exact scenario myself. Growing up I was always referred to as “the skinny guy” which played a huge role on my self confidence. I really did not want to be known as “the skinny guy” anymore so I decided something needed to change. So I joined the local gym, started having protein shakes and thought that I was eating more then enough food to achieve the physique that I was chasing. I went through this phase for a number of months and felt as if I was getting no where. No weight gain, very minimal muscle was built and I still was not happy with what I saw in the mirror. But I stayed very persistent, after constant research on diet & training for months and months I managed to discover a lot of information on these topics and had a huge hit to the face of reality. I learnt I was not eating nearly enough to achieve my goal of gaining weight and building muscle. And my training had no structure to it, it was as simple as walk in and do whatever machine was available. A lot of us in this position truly are not eating enough and I can not recommend counting your calories (food consumption) on a daily basis enough to get an indication on where improvements need to be made. As well as having a well structured workout routine that is enjoyable but also very effective. As time went on I gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in this matter. I personally managed to put 15kg of lean mass on with in a year and a half which was massive! Created an awesome relationship with food and my training. And have now gone from “the skinny guy” to receiving questions on how others too can break through this barrier. Going through this myself has been an amazing way to connect with my clients/friends going through their fitness journeys and having success on them too reaching their goals. Going through this journey is truly an amazing and life changing experience that keeps on giving, the confidence built from this radiates off you. And you can do it! It really is a simple as making sure you are eating enough, have your workout routine structured, staying consistent and making sure to put in the work! If you think you are eating enough and training in all the right ways but getting no where, reality is you’re probably not. If you are serious about reaching your goal then nothing will be able to stop you from doing so.
